A New Job

Joe recently got offered a new job!

It had taken two months, to hear back, on whether or not he had actually got it. During that two months, we learned a lot. In the waiting, our faith in Heavenly Father grew. That faith, carried us through the 2 months of waiting.

When he finally got the call, we both jumped for joy!

He starts this Monday.

This is the beginning of a whole new chapter in our lives, and we are both excited to jump right in! We always love a new adventure!

I'm so grateful for all the many blessing Heavenly Father has blessed us with.
Our love, and appreciation for him, is overwhelming.

And I am so grateful for my loving, smart, hard working husband.
I am so very proud of him!!

Congratulations honey!!

Happy Birthday Honey!

Today, is Joe's 24th birthday!
I finally get to gush about all the reasons why I love my baby!

I love Joe because...

~He makes me laugh, especially when I need to!
~He's oh so handsome!
~He absolutely loves his family, and would do anything for them.
~He's very smart.
~He is successful and goal oriented.
~He's driven.
~He makes my dreams come true. He does a lot of the things he does, because he wants to see all my dreams come true, and I love that about him.
~He's always the one to say he's sorry, and mend a situation. Even when it's clearly me just being a brat ;)
~He's always by my side.
On my 18th birthday, Joe purposed to me. In my birthday card, he wrote "You will never be alone again. I promise I will always be by your side." I remember a weight being lifted off my shoulders, and I quietly took a sigh of relief. Those words comforted me in ways I can't begin to describe. I love Joe because he has kept that promise to me. I don't think either of us knew what lied ahead of us, and how much that promise would be tested.
A week after getting married, my arthritis completely flared after trying to work a day at Wal-Mart. For 2 weeks after, I could barely move. Joe had to help me do everything. And I mean EVERYTHING! We were 2 young newlyweds, married for only a week, and already we faced huge challenges. I thought to myself "This has to be too much for him. I know this is not how he pictured married life. He must be wondering what the heck he got himself into!" I would apologize repeatedly, and Joe's response was always "I love you, and this makes us stronger." I seriously love this man!
~ I love Joe for his strength. He's AWAYS been strong for me. Even as a 19 year old newlywed.
~He goes to any length to put a smile on my face. I love that when he sees me smile, he smiles.
~He has a thirst for knowledge.
~He has a strong and beautiful testimony.
~He tells me I'm beautiful each and every day.
~He fills my heart with love.
~He believes in me.
~He has a very big heart.
~He has a soft and sweet spirit.
~He cries at the end of chick flicks, and isn't too manly to admit it.
~He is going to be a wonderful father. I can already see the love he has for our children, even though he hasn't met them yet.
~He's always striving to be better.
~He's an absolute wonderful husband and friend, and I couldn't have asked for more!

I love you with all my heart Joe!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETHEART!!

He's Good At What He Does.

This week, Joe is on-call. Let me take a second to explain what that is. He is on-call every 5 weeks, from 4pm-8am, and during this time he is at home (he still has to go to work at 9am, but he gets home early at 3:30). When ever there is a technical problem at one of the hospitals, they page Joe, and are relying on him to fix it.
It has it's pros and cons. The pro, is that he gets to work from home some of the time, and I love having him here! He also gets to come home early, to be home for the on-call. The con, is that when it's a busy on-call, he is very busy working from home. Since it's from 4pm-8am, it means he can get a page in the middle of the night...which he does! The pro to that is, if it was busy during the night, he's allowed to sleep in to catch up on his sleep, and then work from home for the remainder of the day. That is what Joe is doing today, because it was busy last night.
Last night, I was laying in bed, half asleep, in total amazement at my husband! I realized how good he is at what he does. He goes from being dead asleep, to the jumping out of bed to answer the phone, and immediately start solving a nurses problem based on some little clue she gave him as to what is going on with her computer! I couldn't even tell you what street I live on, if you woke me up in the middle of the night, let alone fix your computer! One of the things that really blows me away, is how he can know exactly what to do, with just a little piece of information. One time when he was 0n-call, a doctor paged him in the middle of the night. Joe got up to call the doctor, still half asleep. I heard the doctor say, in a almost panicked way, "I'm not getting vital signs!" I immediately panicked! He's half asleep! He can't fix this....and it's kinda serious! Joe thought for a second, and then fixed the problem!
Joe is truly amazing at what he does!

I'm very grateful for the job that my husband has, and for the talent he has to do it well.
I'm so very grateful to Heavenly Father for blessing Joe with the talents he has to be successful in his career. Because of those blessings, we were able to buy a home, have a car to drive us around, provide us with all the things we need, and gives me the health coverage that I need. Joe really takes care of me, and Heavenly Father takes care of us.
I'm so grateful to them both!

Thank you honey for all that you do to provide for us...and thank you for all that you do for me! I know one of the reasons you work so hard at your job, is because you care about me, and you want to take care of me...thank you!
You have been through everything with me, and you have always been right by my side. I could never thank you enough. I don't know where I'd be without you.
You are everything to me!
I LOVE you!!! (above a lot ;)

Playing Catch Up: Day 3

Day 3: Joseph and Brittany

A lot has happened in our lives these past 3 1/2 years, so I will start from the beginning.
Joe and I met when he was 14 and I was 12. He had a huge crush on me , and he told me he was going to marry me someday. I thought he was a complete loser! (I love you honey:) After a year my family and I moved back to California. For some reason, after we moved away I could not get him out of my mind. Through the years I made multiple attempts to get in touch with him, with my Dad's help. I finally succeeded when he was attending BYU. My brother Ben Lived close by (Ben and Joe were friends when they were younger), So I called him up and begged him to meet up with Joe. When he did, Joe and I talked on the phone for the first time in 5 years! A few months later we were married!

(Joe and I when we first started dating...I know, we looked different :)

3 months after getting married we decided we wanted to move to Colorado, and 2 weeks later we were here!! We stuffed his mustang with everything we could fit, and practically drove across America on a tank full of dreams. I know that sounds completely corny, but it was how we felt. It was a very exciting time in our lives! We could not wait to see what the world had in store for us young newlyweds.

( Joe and I a couple weeks after moving to Colorado)

Joe started attending ITT-Tech to achieve his associates in computer networking administration, and his bachelors in information security systems. He is also planning on getting his Masters in information technology. Joe, through his hard work climbed up the career ladder quickly. Two years after moving to Colorado, he successfully started his career. He is a systems administrator for a health care company. It is his ultimate goal to become a security systems administrator and one day become an IT security director. Although becoming a systems administrator was his first goal, and a necessary step towards becoming a security director.

(Joe achieving his Associates degree with a 3.9 GPA)

In September 2007 we decided to build our first home, through KB Homes. This was another exciting time in our lives! It was so much fun to go to the home studio, and pick out everything from our carpet and floors, cabinets and light fixtures, to the door handles and the color of the outside of our house!! It was even funner to come every week and watch our home be built from the ground up! Seeing the things we had selected from the home studio being put in our house, was like opening a big present every week!

(The land our house was built on)

(Our basement)

(Framing from the up stairs looking over into the living room)

(Dry wall From the upstairs looking over into the living room)

(Dry wall from the family room into the kitchen and breakfast nook)

(Kitchen nearly complete. The appliances got there the day we closed on the house.)

(Dry wall going downstairs into the breakfast nook)

(One of my favorite spots in the house, the bath tub in the master bathroom. I had to fight Joe on this one, He wanted the stand up shower with a sitting bench inside the shower.. As you can see I won!)

On April 30th-08 the house was done being built, and we bought our first home!!

Joe and I are both excited to continue to live out our dreams together, and see what the future has in store for us! Joe will be graduating with his Bachelors degree next year...he is excited! We are also in the process of starting our own computer consulting company. When we do, I will work from home handling the secretary side of the business. With in the next year we are hoping to start a whole new chapter in our lives, by starting to plan for a family!

I love my husband, I love my family, and I love Heavenly Father for many reasons, but one being for how much he has blessed Joe and I! We are truly grateful.

And that is our story so far...

Now that you have been completely caught up with us, we are excited to unravel our many memories to come, with you reading along with us!
